My Spider Web Pancakes are a delicious way to start the day during Halloween season! Simple to prep and simple to make for a delicious seasonal breakfast!
I love playing around with different ways to make pancakes. We love them in our house, and enjoy trying out different pancake "art".
My kids love my Spider Web Pancakes and it is easy enough for them to make as well. They come up with some pretty interesting and creative spider web shapes!
I use my traditional pancake mix recipe and a plastic squeeze bottle to make the shape of the spider web. It is really simple to put together. The only tricky part if not breaking the inner web when flipping, but using the squeeze bottle allows for some patching as needed.
Sometimes my kids like to add a little green food dye to the mix for a truly electrified spider web experience!
Ingredients
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- salt
- white sugar
- whole milk
- egg
- vanilla extract
- butter
Instructions
- Mix together the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Whisk together the eggs, vanilla, and milk in another.
- Gently, pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir till just mixed. Spoon batter into a squeeze bottle with a top.
- Heat the griddle to medium heat. Scoop batter on the griddle ⅓ cup at a time. To create the spider web, make large circle. Follow with a smaller circle inside and a circle in the center. Draw lines with the batter from the center to create the web.
- Once the pancake starts to bubble and steam, flip. Allow the pancake to cook until it lightly steams on the opposite side.
- Carefully remove from griddle and serve.
