Tender ground pork, and fresh asparagus in a sweet and spicy chili sauce make a delicious weeknight meal. Served with rice and topped with green onion make an easy and unforgettable meal.
I am so excited for asparagus season this year. It is one of my favorite vegetables and I love the versatility of all the different recipes I can use it in.
This recipe is an asian inspired recipe using fresh asparagus and spicy peppers. The sauce uses ingredients like soy sauce, ginger, rice wine, honey, and oyster sauce. Some of the sauce is worked into the pork prior to cooking and it has the more delicious flavor!
I love to use ground pork in this recipe because it cooks so quickly and evenly. The ground pork also soaks up all the yummy flavors so well and it blends so well with the sweet and spicy in this dish!
Depending on how much spice you like the peppers are optional. I like a little heat and so do my husband and kids, but if you are not in that boat leave out the pepper, and it will still taste delicious.
I like to serve this with steamed brown (or white) rice, and typically make wontons or egg rolls on the side from our freezer. It is so good, so easy, and excellent for a quick and easy weeknight meal.

So glad you liked it! When I saw it on your meal plan I was excited. 🙂 It's one of my all-time favorites and I made it a lot this spring. The other day I found some leftover in my freezer, just enough for one portion with some angel hair pasta, and it was delectable.

I bet it was awesome with pasta....I think I might need to make this again to try that.
