Baked Feta Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes went viral on TikTok for a reason, and it because it is delicious! A block of feta, cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil makes with a pasta recipe to make as soon as possible!

If you have been on TikTok recently you might have seen this viral Baked Feta Pasta.
The ingredients and the method is so simple it is no wonder that this recipe has taken the internet by storm.
I made this recipe for my family, and it was an instant hit! My kids and my husband both loved it, and that was a win for me. Who knew pasta with a block of feta would be so delicious!
The moral of the story is that even if you are doing the newest TikTok dance, you can certainly make the TikTok pasta.
Ingredients
- Shaped Pasta- I love to use cavatappi, bow ties, or penne for Baked Feta Pasta.
- Cherry Tomatoes- I like to use a smaller tomato because they breakdown better. I do not recommend a larger tomato like a roma. The combination of feta and cherry tomatoes is delicious!
- Block of Feta Cheese- A feta block works best because it melts better than crumbled.
- Garlic- I like to use minced garlic, but cloves are delicious too.
- Olive Oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Fresh Basil- dried basil works too, but fresh gives much better flavor.
Optional Add-Ins
- White or red wine- the wine will be added with the oil. Both are delicious, but I refer white in this recipe.
- Sliced or button mushrooms- the mushrooms with roast nicely with the tomatoes and blend well into the cheesy sauce.
- Garlic- I use minced garlic, but whole cloves can be added and roasted as well.
- Onions- thinly sliced onions are a delicious option to add with the garlic or tomatoes.
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 400°F.
- In a 9x13 pan place tomatoes in an even layer. Season with salt and pepper, and top with olive oil.
- Place feta in the middle of the baking dish. Top with a little additional olive oil and minced garlic.
- Place baking dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
- While sauce cooks, cook the pasta according to package instructions. When tender drain, but keep 1 cup of pasta water for the sauce.
- Remove feta and tomatoes from the over. Top with fresh chopped basil and stir.
- Add the pasta and stir to coat with sauce. Add pasta water to the sauce gradually to allow the sauce to cover more of the pasta. You might not use all the pasta water.
- Serve the Baked Feta Pasta immediately.
Let's Talk Cheese
This recipe uses a block of feta cheese for the pasta sauce. Can you use a different cheese besides feta? You can, but the texture might not be the same.
The feta block will become very cream because of the tomatoes and oil, and will not be dry.
Other cheeses that will work are goat cheese, burrata, or ricotta. However, using the burrata or ricotta will result in a pasta with a melty cheese sauce and will be different than goat or feta cheese.

We have found a new fave pasta dish! I definitely added some white wine (and more in a glass while cooking) and we all enjoyed every bite. Thanks!
