Everything But The Bagel Cheese Ball is a quick and crowd pleasing appetizer. Cream cheese, bacon, and green onion seasoned with Everything But The Bagel seasoning. Served with classic bagel chips.
Cheese ball season is officially here! I love a good cheese ball during the holidays, and I love experimenting with different flavors. One of my favorite seasonings is Everything But The Bagel seasoning. It is great on so many things like eggs, avocado, potatoes, and cheese balls! A few of my favorite recipes using Everything But The Bagel Seasoning are Everything But The Bagel Spread, Mini Everything Bagel Dogs, and Everything Bagel Smoked Salmon Quiche.
The seasoning mix has:
- Poppy Seeds
- Sesame Seeds
- Black Sesame Seeds
- Minced Dried Garlic
- Minced Dried Onion
- Course Sea Salt
The mix is sold at specialty store to warehouse stores, or you can easily make it at home. If you make it at home you can store it in an glass jar right in your pantry.
This cheese ball, in addition to the seasoning, includes bacon, green onion, a little dry ranch seasoning, and shredded cheddar cheese. I like to serve this cheese call with bagel chips or fresh veggies for dipping and spreading. I love the flavors of this cheese ball because it is smokey, salty, creamy, and filled with lots of yummy mix-ins.
The fantastic thing about making a cheese ball for a holiday appetizer is that you can make it advance, store in the fridge, and then pull from the fridge right before you are ready to serve!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a flavored cream cheese?
Yes, but it will change the flavor or make a flavor more intense. A garlic herb or a chive would be tasty.
Can I omit the bacon?
Yes, if you prefer this to me meat-free you can omit the bacon.
How far in advance can I make my cheese ball?
The cheese ball is good for about 2 weeks in the fridge, but I would give the cheese ball an additional layer of plastic wrap. When making it in advance make sure to add the topping when you are ready to serve.
Can I freeze the cheese ball?
Yes, I would double wrap the cheese ball, and do not add the toppings till it is thawed and ready to serve. The cheese ball can be thawed in the fridge.
