Creamy Chicken Crescent Roll-Up are a kid-approved weeknight meal. Flaky crescents stuffed with shredded chicken in a creamy cheesy sauce.
My kids love crescent rolls, and pretty anything that involves stuffing them or rolling them. I love making my Creamy Chicken Crescent Roll-Ups for my family on busy nights.
The filling is delicious- who doesn't love a warm cheesy chicken filling wrapped is flaky pastry dough?
This recipe is versatile because you can make your own shredded chicken, or opt for a meat from a rotisserie chicken. I keep frozen shredded chicken stocked in our freezer, but when I haven't thawed the chicken, or replenished our stock I love to use rotisserie chicken.
Another excellent option for proteins in this recipe is shredded chopped turkey leftover from the holiday meal.
These delicious crescents are comfort food, and will be a family favorite.
Ingredients
- refrigerated crescent rolls- these are typically located in between the dairy and frozen section of the grocery store.
- cooked shredded chicken or turkey- I use my recipe for Instant Pot Shredded Chicken, but rotisserie, canned, or leftover turkey work great.
- can of cream of chicken soup- I typically choose original for this recipe, but there are reduced fat and fat free varieties that can be used. Using fat free will give the filling a less creamy consistency, but it will still taste good.
- cream cheese- reduced fat can be used, but I do not typically sue fat free. I do not care for the taste or texture.
- packet ranch seasoning- this product can be found by the salad dressing.
- shredded cheddar cheese- Bagged shredded cheese or shredding by hand are both options for my Creamy Chicken Crescent Roll-Ups.
- sour cream- I use full-fat sour cream, but reduced fat work well too. I do not like the flavor for fat-free and do not recommend it for this recipe.
- black pepper
- egg- the egg, when brushed on top, gives a nice golden broth exterior.
Let's Talk Chicken!
I like to use my Instant Pot Shredded Chicken recipe because it is super easy for meal prepping, and freezes really well between uses.
If you don't have shredded chicken handy canned chicken or rotissere chicken works really well.
This is also an excellent recipe to use leftover cooked turkey as well.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a medium mixing bowl, add chicken, soup, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, ranch packet, sour cream, and pepper. Mix well.
- Open the crescent rolls, separate each of the crescent rolls, and place on a large baking sheet.
- Add a spoonful (about 1 ½-2 tablespoons) of the chicken mixture at the large end of the dough triangle. Roll up triangles from the larger part of the triangle. Use you fingers to keep the filling in place.
- Brush reserved beaten egg on top of each crescent. Bake 15 to 17 minutes till the tops of the crescent rolls are golden brown and filling is warm.

We love this recipe. Serve it at least once a month. Haven't nailed just the right starch to go with it yet Tonight we had potatoes romanoff with it and fresh green beans with bacon.

That sounds delicious!

Suggestions on how to reheat them? Going to try this recipe today!

I have typically microwaved them if having them for lunch away from home. However, the air fryer works great too!
