Strawberry Margarita Popsicles are made with sweet and tart margarita mix frozen and fresh strawberries to make a delicious popsicle for kids, or dipped in tequila with a sprinkle salt for adults!
There is nothing tastier or more nostalgic than a popsicle on a hot summer day.
Grape was a favorite flavor choice for me as a kid, but I was also team banana when it came to the double popsicles.
I love to make my own pops at home, and one of my favorites is Strawberry Margarita Popsicles. I make these with my Homemade Margarita Mix, and fresh strawberries.
For this recipe, I opted to mash my fresh berries because I like have pieces of frozen fruit. However, if you prefer a smoother texture you can puree your fruit by mashing till there are no lumps.
These frozen treats are a perfect way to start summer. I love to serve them with a small glass of white tequila and extra salt. The popsicle melts into the cup as you eat it, and you get a frozen treat and drink!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THESE POPSICLES:
- margarita mix or limeade
- fresh strawberries
- salt
- tequila and additional salt for an adult version
- popsicle mold- I love Zoku molds and use the Classic Pop Mold for this recipe, but I am seriously eyeing the Space Pop Mold!
HOW TO MAKE THESE POPSICLES:
- Evenly divide the mashed strawberries between the popsicle molds. Sprinkle a small pinch of salt over strawberries.
- Top with margarita mix to the popsicle molds fill line. Freeze according to product recommendations.
- Once frozen enjoy on it's own or in a small glass of tequila with a bit of salt for sprinkling.
FLAVOR VARIATIONS
Strawberry is a delicious flavor for these Strawberry Margarita Popsicles. However, I love using mashed blueberries, mango, or raspberries to create more frozen margarita treats!
If you want to switch-up the flavor sub the berries on a 1:1 ratio.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS!
I love to dip this popsicle in a little white tequila with course salt. It is so yummy to sip a little and them have a sweet frozen treat.
Rum is a delicious alternative to tequila, and the popsicle becomes strawberry daiquiri inspired!
It is simple to leave out the alcohol, and enjoy the popsicle as is!
