Spaghetti Pie is the perfect weeknight meal. A cheesy pasta base topped with a rich meat sauce. Covered with cheese, baked, and served with garlic bread.

Spaghetti Pie is great because it can be made in advance and cooked the following evening or frozen for a later. I don't always have a lot of time at night and anything I can do to make dinnertime less hectic is a bonus.
This dish uses pasta baked with eggs and cheese to create a "crust". Topped with cottage cheese, a hearty meat sauce, and finished with a layer of mozzarella cheese.
Ingredients
- uncooked spaghetti- I like to use a traditional spaghetti over angel hair or fettuccini.
- eggs
- grated Parmesan cheese
- garlic powder
- olive oil
- lean ground beef - ground turkey, or plant based protein works great as well.
- spaghetti sauce - use your favorite jarred sauce!
- cottage cheese - ricotta can be used in place of cottage cheese.
- shredded mozzarella
- dried parsley - fresh works great too!
Instructions
- Cook the pasta till al dente and drain.
- Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Mix pasta with eggs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and olive oil. Pour mixture into a 10-in pie dish to form a crust.
- Cook ground beef till not longer pink and grain grease. Add spaghetti sauce and mix well. Spread spaghetti sauce mixture over the cottage cheese. Top with mozzarella cheese and parsley.
- Bake 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let it stand 5 minutes before cutting.
Make-Ahead/Freezer Instructions
If making in advance, prepare as normal but leave the mozzarella off. Store, covered, in the fridge up to 3 days. Once ready to bake, remove covering and add the mozzarella cheese and parsley.
If freezing, prepare in a disposable pie tin. Do not add the mozzarella. Wrap in foil and store in the freeze till ready to bake. Unwrap, thaw, and add cheese before baking.
