If you haven’t been to Erbert & Gerbert's in a while, now’s the time! They just introduced two new asian-inspired sandwiches that are only here for a limited time and they are Bold Between The Breads™! Try the BBQ Brisket Asian Fusion or Plant-Based Roasted Red Pepper Bánh Mì, they’re seriously out-of-this-world!
I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and am lucky enough to have an Erbert & Gerbet's Sandwich Shop close to me. I have been visiting E&G since I was a kid, and was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to take you with me to visit the shop, and try the new BBQ Brisket Asian Fusion and Roasted Red Pepper Bánh Mì sandwiches.
[easy-image-collage id=11499]Erbert & Gerbert's is located in a downtown area of Green Bay around other lunchtime friendly restaurants, businesses, and little stores. I love the easy-in and easy-out parking based on the location because there is more of my lunchtime to enjoy and not stress about finding a parking spot or a long-ish walk to the door.
I enlisted one of my friends and headed to lunch! I was excited to try the new offerings as soon as I walked into the door! E&G did a nice job of making sure that I knew what to order, and the pictures looked super tasty! I have to say that I was especially excited to try the BBQ Brisket Asian Fusion. I am a big fan of BBQ brisket, and it sounded like a delicious combination!
I loved learning the backstory on the different sandwich names like "Tappy", "Pudder", and "Bornk". I did not know that brothers Erbert and Gerbert where actually story characters, and their other characters inspired sandwich names. What an adorable and creative touch to naming the sandwich!
I was happy to see the bright and bold sandwich photos again! I was, again, impressed the the hearty look of the sandwich.
The sandwiches are pictured at the door and twice at the register, and I liked getting to see what I was going to be ordering! I love the fusion of flavors advertised because it is something new to try verses the "same-old, same-old". I really was interested in the out of the box concept for sandwich.
At the register there are lots of flavors of tasty chips to go with any sandwich flavor. My favorite are the salt and vinegar or jalapeno! I told the staff why I was there-to promote try the new sandwiches to share with my lovely readers!
I ordered my sub and headed to a table to wait for them to be prepared. At Erbert & Gerbert's the subs are prepared to order, but the wait is not long- and totally worth it.
Shortly after ordering, my subs were ready! They where not marked with named labels like traditional subs on the menu, and I imagine this is due the the fact that they are limited time. Erbert & Gerbert's offers different types of bread, and I opted to order mine as pictured around the store. I ordered BBQ Brisket Asian Fusion on french and Roasted Red Pepper Bánh Mì on honey wheat. For my order, two stickers was the Roasted Red Pepper Bánh Mì, and one sticker was BBQ Brisket Asian Fusion.
I couldn't forget a fountain drink to go with my sandwiches!
The first sandwich was the BBQ Brisket Asian Fusion. I was surprised when I unwrapped it to find foil, but it is a sandwich that is served warm. The BBQ Brisket Asian Fusion is described as southern take on an Asian classic. All natural hickory smoked beef brisket smothered in barbecue sauce, cucumbers, jalapeño peppers, tomatoes and lettuce with cilantro-mint aioli made from Hellmann’s® mayo.
My sandwich looks a little different than the tasty advertisements around the restaurant, but I know that is hard with a toasted wrapped sandwich! I liked that it was filled with meat! I would have liked to see a little more of the fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers, as pictured in the advertisements.
I really enjoyed the BBQ flavors with the jalapeno. The slight herb flavor from the cilantro-mint aoli was a nice touch! I like that this sandwich was warm, a little spicy, and had a little crunch from the peppers and cucumbers! I wish the presentation was as spot on as the flavors, but the important this is that it tasted good and I would order this again!
Look at that tasty meaty bite! This is a sandwich I totally recommend!
Now I was on to the Roasted Red Pepper Bánh Mì! I was really excited to try this sandwich, and it is described as: savory sweet roasted red peppers topped with cucumbers, jalapeño peppers, tomatoes, lettuce and barbecue sauce with cilantro mint aioli made from Hellmann’s® mayo. The sandwich is similar to the BBQ Brisket Asian Fusion, but uses roasted red peppers in place of the BBQ brisket. I love roasted red peppers, and was super excited to try this sandwich.
The sandwich had great texture and filled with lots of fresh veggies! I have to say that I wish there was a little less sauce, and the lettuce/other veggies ratio was a little greater when it came to the roasted red peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and jalapenos. However, the aoli and BBQ was great in this veggie sandwich. Like I said, I thought there was little too much, but the flavor was good. I might consider ordering it on the side to make sure that I could control the amount because on a veggie sub, too much sauce can happen pretty quickly. I would also ask for extra roasted red peppers the next time I order this sandwich, but overall I was impressed!
I thought the presentation of this sandwich was nice, and I loved all the bright colors and fresh veggies!
A lovely location, friendly sandwich makers, two delicious new sub sandwiches sampled with a friend, a fizzy fountain drink, and crispy crunchy chips make a great lunch!
I highly encourage you to get to an Erbert and Gerbert's to try their new flavors (only available for a limited time!), or revisit old favorites!

Mmmmm. These sandwiches sound amazing. I love a good Bahn Mi but can never find a good one. I haven't heard of this shop but if I see one I'm definitely stopping!

I love Banh Mi sandwiches too! And these look delicious. I just wish we had some of these shops near me.

This sandwich looks delicious! We don't have this restaurant around here in Buffalo -- maybe they should open one!
