Mini Garlic Monkey Bread is ready in under 20 minutes, and perfect for a garlic bread lover. Layers of biscuits cooked in a garlic butter and herbs. They are fun to make and fun to eat!

Garlic bread is my favorite side dish with spaghetti. We typically buy a traditional french loaf and will make our own garlic bread. However, sometimes I like to make my tasty Mini Garlic Monkey Bread.

This simple side dish is so easy to put together and tastes delicious! I like to use refrigerated buttermilk biscuits because they have a nice crisp exterior and the inside is so soft and fluffy.

I like to use a combo of chopped garlic and garlic powder for this recipe for a flavor packed bite. I also use herbs and, of course, butter.

What is Monkey Bread?

Monkey bread is traditionally sweet. It is small balls of yeast dough baked together. It is eaten by hand in small amounts. This recipe is different, while it uses the small amounts of dough, the end result is savory.

Ingredients

  • refrigerated buttermilk biscuits - Buttermilk works best, but homestyle is great as well. Flaky layer biscuits also work, but the texture of the Mini Garlic Monkey Bread is lighter and airy.
  • butter- I use salted butter, but unsalted works as well.
  • grated Parmesan- use grated because shredded will not have the same result.
  • garlic - I like to use both garlic and garlic powder in this recipe so there is no bite without a big garlic punch.
  • garlic powder
  • dried oregano- chopped fresh works as well
  • dried parsley flakes- chopped fresh works as well

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Cut each of the 8 biscuits into eighths and place in a mixing bowl.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together meted butter, parmesan, garlic, garlic powder, oregano, and parsley. Add the butter mixture to the biscuit pieces- reserve a few tablespoons to brush on top after baking. Gently stir till evenly coated.
  4. Arrange 5-6 pieces into each muffin cup.
  5. Place into oven and bake about 8 minutes- the tops should be golden brown. Brush with remaining butter mixture and serve.

As much as I like making my own bread, these refrigerated biscuits are perfect for these flavored morsels. Plus you save so much time.
