My Air Fryer Honey BBQ Chicken Wings are crispy and slathered with a delicious sweet and tangy honey BBQ sauce. Ready in 15 minutes and perfect for game day!
I have a family of chicken wing fans. They love all types: buffalo, teriyaki, and BBQ. However, the favorite is more specifically honey BBQ.
My air fryer is my favorite way to make crispy chicken wings for game day or movie night. My Air Fryer Honey BBQ Wings are ready in 15 minutes with minimal mess and easy clean-up.
My family loves these wings and adores the semi-homemade honey BBQ sauce. The trick to super crispy wings without a deep fryer is the air fryer. Also, making sure to pat the wings dry and use a little oil while cooking. Tossed in our favorite sauce at the end makes a perfect finger-licking chicken wing!
Ingredients
- bone-in chicken wings (flats and drummies)
- vegetable oil
- salt
- black pepper
- paprika
- bbq sauce
- soy sauce
- honey
- hot sauce (optional)
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- Sliced carrot sticks, celery sticks, and ranch dressing for dipping
Instructions
- Remove chicken from package and pat the wings dry. This is important so the become crispy while cooking.
- Place wings in a bowl and toss with oil, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Pre-heat the air fryer to 400°F for 2 minutes.
- Place wings in the air fryer. Make sure that the wings are not overlapping or covering each other. This will prevent the wings from getting crispy and cooking evenly. Air frying is done in batches depending on the size of the fryer.
- Cook at 400°F for 8 minutes. Flip the wings and continue cooking for an additional 7 minutes.
- If frying in batches remove the wings and keep warm while the second batch cooks.
- While wings are cooking, prepare the sauce. Mix together bbq sauce, soy sauce, honey, hot sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder.
- Remove cooked wings from air fryer and place in a large clean bowl. Toss the wings in the sauce to coat.
- Serve with carrot and celery sticks and ranch dressing for dipping.
