Italian Sub Salad

Do you love traditional Italian subs? You will love my Italian Sub Salad- all the flavors minus the bread! Fresh cheeses, meats, and veggies. Tossed in a tangy cream Italian dressing.

Ingredients

For Salad:

  • shredded iceberg lettuce
  • shredded romaine lettuce
  • thin sliced ham
  • salami
  • pepperoni
  • sliced black olives
  • green olives
  • fresh mozzarella pearls
  • grape tomatoes
  •  jarred pepperoncini
  • dried oregano
  • grated parmesan cheese

For Dressing:

  • extra virgin olive oil
  • red wine vinegar
  • mayonnaise
  • honey
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • italian seasoning
  • garlic powder

Instructions

For Dressing:

  1. Whisk all ingredients into a bowl. Set aside while the salad is prepared. The dressing can be made 3 days in advance and stored in a sealed container in the fridge.

For Salad:

  1. Place lettuce in a large bowl. Make sure the bowl is big enough to fit all ingredients and to toss in the dressing.
  2. Top with mozzarella, pepper, meats, tomatoes, and olives.
  3. Pour dressing over the salad and toss to evenly coat. Sprinkle grated parmesan and dried oregano on the top of the Italian Sub Salad and serve.

Ingredients
 
 

For Salad:

  • 5 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 5 cups shredded romaine lettuce

  • 4 oz salami, sliced and chopped
  • ⅔ cup pepperoni, halved
  • 2.25 oz sliced black olives
  • ¼ cup sliced green olives
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella pearls
  • ¾ cup halved grape tomatoes
  • ⅓ cup jarred pepperoncini, chopped
  • ½ tablespoon dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsps mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

    I make a "Spicy Italian Salad" that is actually quite different but I think I like this better. Hey everyone needs two Italian Salads in their repertoire, right!
