My Cranberry Moscow Mule is a twist on a traditional Moscow Mule. Vodka, ginger beer, fresh lime juice, and cranberry juice create a twist on a classic to create a delicious holiday drink.
I love all thing cranberry. This year I am hosting a week dedicated to cranberry recipes with a few friends.
The Moscow Mule is a cocktail made with vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice, garnished with a slice or wedge of lime. My Cranberry Moscow Mule updates the classic recipe by adding a little cranberry juice. All all of the festive garnishes and this is the perfect drink for the holidays.
I love the combination of cranberry and lime. The ginger flavors make this drink one of my favorite things to sip on during the holidays.
Ingredients
- Vodka - I typically use regular, but cinnamon is actually really yummy in Cranberry Moscow Mules as well.
- Ginger Beer
- Lime Juice- fresh is best, but the bottled works as well. However, it is more concentrated for use about half the amount.
- Cranberry Juice
- Garnishes: fresh cranberries, limes, and rosemary
- Copper Mugs
- Shaker- I love the colors and design of these shakers
Why a Copper Mug?
A Moscow Mule is easily recognized by the copper mug.
The mug does more than look nice. The copper not only keeps the cold temperature of the drink, but the ingredients react with the coppers ad enhance the flavors of the drink.
What Type of Cranberry Juice?
I use the sweeter cranberry juice cocktail in my Cranberry Moscow Mule.
However, you can use real cranberry juice, but the drink will be pretty tart. If you want an intense flavor of cranberry you can do half cocktail and half unsweetened cranberry juice.
Instructions
- Pour vodka, cranberry juice, and lime juice into a shaker and gently shake to combine.
- Fill 2 copper mugs with ice and pour cranberry mixture over the ice. Top with ginger beer.
- Garnish with lime wedges, fresh cranberries, and rosemary.
Tips
I like to use a shaker for this drink because it combines all the flavors perfectly.
Cinnamon flavored vodka is delicious in this mule and gives the drink a warm and cozy feel.
