My Cranberry Fluff Salad is a delicious twist on traditional cranberry sauce or a yummy dessert. With only 5 ingredients and easy prep, this salad is a fast family favorite.
Cranberry sauce is a tradition in our house for the holidays. It is one of my favorite side dishes on the table, and I love to make my Cabernet Cranberry Sauce or my Vanilla Rum Cranberry Sauce.
However, sometimes I like to change things and make my Cranberry Fluff Salad. This recipe is a fantastic alternative to a traditional cranberry side, and can even serve as a dessert.
This cranberry side dish is packed with delicious ingredients like fresh cranberries, crushed pineapple, whipped topping, sugar, and mini marshmallows. The cranberries are nice and tart and work perfectly with the sweet pineapple and marshmallows.

Ingredients
- fresh cranberries- I prefer fresh for this recipe. You can use frozen, but you want to make sure that you get all the excess liquid out before chopping, or it will make the salad runny.
- canned crushed pineapple- chopped also works, but make sure that you drain excess juice if you are not using crushed. Crushed pineapple will typically not have a lot of excess juice.
- white sugar
- whipped cream topping- I use cool whip for this recipe.
- mini marshmallows- I do not use regular size because it makes the salad harder to eat, and too liquidy.
- food processor
- mixing bowls
Tips
If you do not own a food processor, a chopper or blender works well. If using a blender, pulse the cranberries to chop. To not over blend because you want small pieces about the size of minced garlic.
Orange zest is a great addition to this salad. I do not recommend additional juice, but zest is delicious.
When preparing Cranberry Fluff Salad, make sure that you are letting it sit no more that 24 hours so the marshmallows stay intact.
Ingredients
- In a food processor, pulse to chop the cranberries till they are finely chopped.
- In a large bowl, add the cranberries, pineapple, and sugar. Stir to combine.
- Add the whipped cream and marshmallows. Stir to combine.
- Refrigerate 5 hours or overnight. Serve chilled and top with additional marshmallows.
Let's Talk About Cranberries!
Cranberries are very tart, but when prepared as a sauce or salad with sugar they are sweetened and have a yummy tart and sweet flavor.
Cranberries can be eaten on their own, but they are tart. I love making my Sugared Sparkling Cranberries recipe when the desire hits to pop a few in my mouth.
Wisconsin is one of the countries top cranberry producers, and they are always present at holidays. There is even a cranberry festival in Wisconsin to celebrate.
In my Cranberry Fluff Salad, the cranberries are fresh and finely chopped by a food processor. With the sweet elements it makes the tart and sweet blend very well.
