My Apple Cider Mule is a twist on a traditional Moscow Mule. Vodka, ginger beer, fresh lime juice, and apple cider create a twist on a classic to create a delicious fall drink.

This week I am celebrating fall flavors with a bunch of friends. At the end of this post, just past the recipe, you will find a listing fall inspired recipes and a fun giveaway from the event sponsors.

The Moscow Mule is a cocktail made with vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice, garnished with a slice or wedge of lime. My Apple Cider Mule updates the classic recipe by adding a little apple cider. This is the perfect drink for fall.

I love to drink apple cider warm or cold, and I love them I start to see it in the store and as the local orchard begin open.

The apple cider is sweet and tangy and pairs perfectly with the lime and ginger flavors. I love to garnish my Apple Cider Mule with an apple round. We recently went apple picking for early crops of apples, and I love slicing into those fresh apples to make a delicious garnish to enjoy as I sip.

Ingredients

  • Vodka - I typically use regular, but caramel or cinnamon is delicious as well.
  • Ginger Beer
  • Lime Juice- fresh is best, but the bottled works as well. However, it is more concentrated for use about half the amount.
  • Apple Cider
  • Copper Mugs
  • Shaker- I love the colors and design of these shakers

Why a Copper Mug?

A Moscow Mule is easily recognized by the copper mug.

The mug does more than look nice. The copper not only keeps the cold temperature of the drink, but the ingredients react with the coppers ad enhance the flavors of the drink.

Instructions

  1. Pour vodka, apple cider, and lime juice into a shaker and gently shake to combine.
  2. Fill 2 copper mugs with ice and pour cider mixture over the ice. Top with ginger beer.
  3. Garnish with apple slices.

Tips

I like to use a shaker for this drink because it combines all the flavors perfectly.

Caramel flavored vodka is delicious in this mule and gives the essence of a caramel apple!

I suggest a tart cider for this recipe because it works really well with the lime flavors, but a sweet cider is delicious as well.

I rarely drink alcohol but this drink sounds delicious. It's a great way to add something special to normal apple cider. I will have to give this a try.
