Apple Cider is one of the best fall treats. My Apple Cider Dip is an explosion of fall apple flavors in a creamy dip. Perfect for a snack or to share with friends!

I love sipping on apple cider. Hot or cold- it is one of my favorite drinks. I love it tart and not too sweet. When it is too sweet it just reminds me of an apple juice, and I really love those tart apple flavors.

My Apple Cider Dip is incredible because I use a homemade cider syrup to create an intense apple cider flavor. The syrup is mixed with whipped cream cheese and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I like to serve sliced tart apples for dipping.

My kids love this dip because, like their mom, they have a thing for apple cider and love the flavors in my dip.

The cider syrup is a favorite of mine, and it is so easy to make. I also love it for oatmeal, tea, and a drizzle on doughnuts!

Ingredients

  • apple cider- I prefer a tart cider for this recipe. I find that the dip gets too sweet when a sweet cider is used.
  • cinnamon sticks
  • granulated sugar
  • plain cream cheese- I do not use a low-fat cream cheese because I like a really creamy dip and I feel like the texture is not as good.
  • ground cinnamon
  • fresh apples- my favorite apple to serve on the side are McIntosh apples.

Instructions

  • Pour the apple cider into a large pot. Add the cinnamon sticks and bring to a boil. Once the cider comes to a good boil, lower the heat to medium-low so the mixture simmers.
  • Cook the cider for 1 ½ hours. The cider will thicken and reduce. Once you get to the 1 ½ hour mark, lower the heat to medium-low and stir often until you have about ¾ cup of reduced cider syrup.
  • Remove the cinnamon sticks from the syrup.
  • Put the cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl and whip it up on high for 60 seconds. Pour in the cider into the cream cheese mixture. Mix the mixture until it is evenly blended.
  • Spoon into a bowl, sprinkle with cinnamon, and serve with sliced apples.

Tips

If the cider reduction becomes too thick simple add a little more cider. The best method I have found is to use a whisk to keep a smooth syrup.

I like to whip my own cream cheese with a little sugar. You can use brown sugar for a richer flavor.

I do not recommend using the whipped style cream cheese. If has a lot of air in it and it will change the texture of the dip.

All these dessert dips! How have I never made or had one? They all look and sounds so good. This one with the apple cider and cream cheese in there. Looks perfectly delicious.
