Friday the 13th Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • butter, to grease griddle
  • fresh strawberries

Instructions

  • Mix together the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Whisk together the eggs, vanilla, and milk in another.
  • Gently, pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir till just mixed.
  • Heat the griddle to medium heat. Scoop batter on the griddle ⅓ cup at a time. To create the mask, make an oval shape with a slightly greater amount of batter at the top.
  • Once the pancake starts to bubble and steam, flip. Allow the pancake to cook until it lightly steams on the opposite side.
  • Remove from griddle and use a straw to create the ski mask and eye holes as. Cut the strawberries in to a small triangle and two thin rectangles. Arrange strawberries to create a mask appearance as pictured.
  • Serve with syrup for jam.
