Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
In a medium bowl whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg. Set aside.
In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat the brown sugar, eggs, butter, milk, vanilla, and molasses.
Slowly add the flour mixture while mixing.
Pour batter into the prepare pan and bake for 22-24 minutes. An inserted toothpick should come out free of uncooked dough. It may have a few crumbs.
Remove from oven and allow the gingerbread to cool completely before icing. Top with festive sprinkles.
